Jalgaon (Maharashtra): A 20-year-old woman, who was poisoned after allegedly being gang-raped, died during treatment in Maharashtra's Jalgaon district on Tuesday.
The family of the victim had filed a police complaint alleging that she was gang-raped by three persons.
According to the family's complaint, the 20-year-old was abducted and taken to an unknown location, where three persons gang-raped her.
After raping the victim, the accused trio tried to murder her by poisoning her, the family alleged.
According to the family, the victim had revealed that one of the accused had been trying to befriend her, but she had rejected his advances.
In a bid to take revenge, the man along with two others abducted and raped her. When she resisted, the accused physically assaulted her and even threatened to kill her, the victim told her family.

The victim, who was poisoned, died while availing treatment at a hospital on Tuesday, following which the situation remained tense in the area.
Meanwhile, police said they have held three suspects.
However, they have not yet confirmed rape and are awaiting the postmortem report of the victim.
