Thane (Maharashtra): After a five-hour long operation, a leopard that strayed into Korum mall in Thane on Wednesday morning was captured by the forest officials.
CCTV footage shows the leopard leaving the mall at around 5.30 am and was suspected that it had entered the premises by scaling the perimeter wall.
The big cat was later spotted moving towards Vasant Bihar residential area.
Police and forest officials, who had rushed to the spot, started tracking the feline's movement and its location was traced to the basement of the nearby Hotel Satkar Residency at Cadbury Junction in Thane.
Police who had spotted the leopard hiding behind the water tank of the hotel, cordoned off the area, and used firecrackers to draw the feline out before tranquilising and capturing it.
