Maharashtra school expelled HIV students: NGO

Chief of Infant India, an NGO, has said a village school in Beed district expelled students who were found to be HIV positive, but the school's headmaster has denied the allegation.

Beed: In a shocking incident, some children with HIV have been expelled from a Zilla Parishad school in a village in Maharashtra's Beed district.

Chief of Infant India NGO has accused the teachers of the school of sacking the students. However, the headmaster has denied all the charges.

Datta Bargaje, NGO chief has filed a complaint with guardian minister of the district demanding action against teachers responsible for this incident.

While the government and administration are spending thousands of crores on creating awareness about HIV, such incidents are condemnable.

Headmaster denies charges

Zilla Parishad school headmaster K S Lad has denied all these allegations and said that no students have been expelled. In fact, these students are not even enrolled in our school.

"Students of standard 6th to 10th from the same institution are admitted in our school and we do not discriminate," he said.
