Stranger extends support to COVID-19 infected woman abadoned by her family

As a silver lining to the dark story, a stranger offered support to COVID-19 infected woman who was abandoned by her family in Osmanabad district of Maharashtra. Her family is said to have abandoned her and her two children, fearing infection spread, and then came Vijay Jadhav to her aid.

Mumbai: In a heartwarming gesture, a stranger came to the support of a woman infected by the novel coronavirus, as she was abandoned by her family fearing infection.

According to reports, the woman hailing from Omarga town of Osmanabad district in Maharashtra had gone to Mumbai along with her husband and returned positive.

On arrival, her in-laws refused to accept her. The story took a drastic turn when her husband died a few days ago from the infection, and the focus shifted to her survival.

Her family is said to have abandoned her and her two children fearing infection spread and then came Vijay Jadhav to her aid.

Even as coronavirus wreaks havoc in the state, stories of survival and good deeds are shedding some brightness in tough times.

As of now, several families have been ripped apart by the virus and Jahdav's helping hand reflects the never die attitude of Maharashtrians.

According to reports, Jadhav, whose daughter had died 27 years ago, offered her him house and assured of all help to tide over the crisis. Jadhav's wife is said to have welcomed Omarga town woman with both hands and deserve praise for the humanitarian gesture.

India witnessed its highest-ever spike of 11,929 new cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country to 3,20,922, according to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected state with as many as 1,04,568 cases, followed by Tamil Nadu (42,687) and Delhi (38,958).
