Sangli: Family of a three died in 13 hours due to Covid-19

A family of three was devastated by corona in just 13 hours in Shirshi in Shirala Taluka. A father, mother, and then a son have died in the same family. The incident has shocked everyone. The family resides in Shirshi, a hilly area of the Taluka.

Sangli: A family of three was devastated by corona in just 13 hours in Shirshi in Shirala Taluka. A father, mother, and then a son have died in the same family. The incident has shocked everyone. The Zimur family resides in Shirshi, a hilly area of the Taluka.

Their son Sachin Mahadev Zimur is a software engineer who had returned to the village from Mumbai 15 days ago. During this period, his mother contracted corona for the first time. So the boy chose to stay back in the village.

His mother's condition deteriorated and she was admitted to the hospital. Later, his father became infected too and was admitted to the hospital. After a few days, his parent’s health improved. But, his father’s health deteriorated again. The boy also got infected with corona and the whole family became ill due to corona.

The father died on Wednesday at 5 am while undergoing treatment. At the time of the father's death, both the son and the mother were undergoing treatment on ventilators. Because of this, the relatives organised the funeral rites of the father.

The mother died at around 5 pm after his father’s cremation. By the time the news of the death reached the relatives, the boy also died just one hour later. The deaths of father Mahadev Zimur (age 75), mother Sushil Zimur (age 66) and son Sachin Zimur (age 30) in just 13 hours have caused distress amongst the people.
