Pune: The relatives of a pneumonia patient held a protest at Alka Chowk in Pune on Tuesday night, for not getting oxygen-fitted bed from the hospital.
As per the family members, the 34-year-old patient was taken to seven different hospitals of the city to admit him but was denied a bed, citing non-availability of the same.
The relatives said after approaching the first hospital, they were told they do not have a bed available. They then headed to several hospitals in vain and his health slowly deteriorated.
Agitated over the lackadaisical approach of the hospital authorities, the relatives later staged a protest following which a bed was arranged for the patient after 8 hours of long wait.
Earlier, the patient was diagnosed with pneumonia and has undergone a COVID 19 test, results of which are awaited.
Relatives later called off the protest after the youth was admitted to the hospital.
