Ahmednagar: Marking the 103th death anniversary of Shirdi Sai Baba, spiritual leader, kakad aarti was performed on Thursday at 4:30 am in Shirdi. It was not held in a pompous manner owing to Covid restrictions. Punyatithi festival has been celebrated on Dussehra since 1918.
After the ritual, a procession to Dwarkamai with Sai Baba's photo and book from the temple was held. Later, the first chapter of Saicharitra was recited from 4 pm to 6 pm on the stage of Samadhi Mandir. The Samadhi temple was closed at 10:30 pm. Shri Saisachcharit Akhand Parayan has been continuing through the night in Dwarkamai temple.
Sai Baba passed away on October 15, 1981. He lived in Shirdi for more than 60 years.
