Puducherry games will not succeed in Maharashtra: Sena to BJP

Shiv Sena has attacked BJP through its editorial in Saamna warning that, Maharashtra can never be a Puducherry. In a sharp criticism, Shiv Sena says that rolling out a red carpet for turncoats from West Bengal to Puducherry and Maharashtra to Jammu Kashmir and playing a puppet game is indecent on the part of any party. If vested interests are dreaming of repeating the Pudduchery experiment in Maharashtra, they will definitely fail, says an editorial in Shiv Sena's mouthpiece Saamna.

Mumbai (Maharashtra): Maharashtra election result is sentiments of its people and Maharashtra has made up its mind, claimed the Saamna editorial. The political games played in Madhya Pradesh and Puducherry will not succeed in Maharashtra, the editorial has lashed out at BJP for toppling governments of opposition.

The editorial further says that the appointed governor whether in Pudduchery or Maharashtra, has to play tricks with orders from Delhi and the Governor is used as curry leaves in meals. `Bhajyapal’ (a sarcastic reference to Maharashtra governor) should understand that former Puducherry governor Kiran Bedi has been dumped after being used as curry leaves.

It says that only one Mantra is important in politics and it applies to all. What you will sow, it will grow and no ruler should forget this. Puducherry is a small state and union territory with 30 elected and three nominated MLAs. But BJP has wrested this state from Congress. In the wake of these developments, Shiv Sena has
criticized BJP through Saamna editorial.

Maharashtra is impossible The editorial says that five MLAs supporting Pudduchery CM Narayanaswamy became turncoats and so his government became a
minority government. These 5 MLAs including that of Anna DMK who supported the Narayanaswamy government for four and half years and now they suddenly have become beetles of the lotus (Referring to BJP election symbol).

The assembly elections are due within four months and BJP or centre could wait till then. But, BJP toppled the government to show it’s strength. Some BJP leaders have said that, after Pudduchery, now Operation Lotus will be done in March-April in Maharashtra. When they toppled the Madhya Pradesh government, they have declared the next axe will be in Maharashtra. Then they said, let Bihar election results be declared, we will make a change in Maharashtra. Now they are talking after Pudducheri. But, it is impossible to topple the Maharashtra government.

Do not play tricks in Maharashtra

Saamna editorial has warned that, in Madhya Pradesh and Puducherry, Congress was in power, but in Maharashtra, Shivsena is in power. It asks the BJP not try to play tricks in Maharashtra. Whatever games were played in Pudduchery, had already been played in Maharashtra too. Puducherry lieutenant governor Kiran Bedi did not allow the Narayanaswamy government to work properly because the state is a union territory and the governor has more powers. Kiran Bedi used to nullify every decision taken in people’s interest by Narayanaswamy. The lieutenant governor can’t behave in this way without orders from the central government. Maharashtra `Bhajyapal’ need to understand this, the editorial insinuated.

The governor whether serving in Maharashtra or Pudduchery has to play tricks on orders from Delhi, says the editorial. They are used as curry leaves in meals. Maharashtra Bhajyapal should understand that Bedi has been dumped after using as curry leaves. If somebody thinks that toppling opposition governments with the blessings of the central government is an act of gallantry, it is wrong. Maharashtra is facing the same trick, we must realise what has been done in Puducherry.

Saamna in a scathing attack on BJP alleged that BJP has bought majority in Madhya Pradesh by luring Maharaja Shinde and his supporters. In Puducherry, nothing different has happened. CM Narayanaswamy has alleged that political developments in Pudduchery is political prostitution. But, no party has remained far from this in the past 70 years.

Senior Congress leaders had alleged that ED, CBI, Income Tax departments were used to threaten MLAs supporting government and forced them to switch loyalties to BJP. As the same tricks are being used in Maharashtra, we will have to trust Congress, the editorial states. It adds that, once upon a time, Congress was powerful in south India. But, today they have lost even a small state like Puducherry.

Only Punjab, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are in Congress kitty. In Maharashtra and Jharkhand, Congress is sharing power with other parties. There have been efforts to destabilize the Jharkhand government and for that, central investigations agencies have been asked to probe CM Hemant Soren. This is detrimental to democracy. The politics being played only to grab power with abandoning principles and ethics is worrisome, the editorial lastly comments.
