Pune (Maharashtra): A woman from an agriculturist family in the village of Palu in Pune district, carried out a procession of her victorious husband in Gram panchayat elections on her shoulders. The woman has showered praises from all over India.
Now, the central post department has also praised this woman and a postal stamp has been created in her honour.
"The entire village has been honoured, not only my family."
Santosh Gurav and Renuka Gurav are living with two children in Palu village in Khed taluka in Pune district. In the gram panchayat elections, Santosh Gurav was a candidate and he won with a vast majority of votes.
Exhilarated by this victory, Renuka Gurav took a round of the village with her husband on her shoulder. She also assured villagers that her husband will contribute in the development of the village. Her procession was praised countrywide. Now, post department of the central government has created a postal stamp in her honor.
Renuka Gurav said that not only her family but the entire village has been honoured.
Women participate in family’s every moment
The women in rural areas live with the idea of raising children. But they are a valuable part of successful progress and every moment of family, be it happy or sad. But, many women even today do not come forward to express their feelings. Renuka Gurav has called every woman should participate in the development of her village with their husbands.
Dedicated the honour to the village
Santosh Gurav said that he rejoiced after winning gram panchayat election of Palu village. "My wife carried out a procession taking me on her shoulder. She was praised by everybody. I was thinking about how to repay her good gesture. At that time, the central post department honoured her. This is an extremely valuable thing and I am dedicating this honour to the village," he said.
