Mumbai: It is uncertain what the massive social churning will reflect on ballot boxes after Maratha and Bhima Koregaon agitations in Maharashra, said veteran journalist and political expert Venkatesh Kesari.
Speaking to ETV Bharat, Venkatesh said that none of the political parties are talking about issues relevant to the state.
He went to add: "Today every party have their committed vote bank in Maharashtra. This is not enough for winning elections until they get floating voters in their favour. These voters are not associated with any political group. They are committed to local issues."
He asserted that there is relevance for floating voters in Maharashtra politics and they play a significant role.
On the rural distress in the state, he said, "The state is facing drought. Neither the ruling BJP-Sena nor the Opposition is raising it in their campaigns. Even, Prakash Ambedkar's party is distancing itself from such an important issue."
Slamming the ruling Devendra Fadnavis government, he said that there is acute water shortage in many municipal corporations across the state. He speculated about the rise of electricity tariff as many power suppliers are demanding to hike power tariff.
