Nanded (Maharashtra): With no work due to the lockdown, a father-son duo decided to end their water woes instead, as they successfully dug up a well in front of their house in Maharashtra's Nanded district.
Siddharth Devke, a resident of Mulzhara village in Kinwat taluka, owns a band which used to play at weddings. But, with the lockdown forcing people to have sombre functions, Devke was out of work.
However, Devke decided to make the most of his time. Considering the annual water shortage in the region, he decided to dig a well at his house.
Assisted by his son Pankaj, Devke began the arduous job. The father-son duo would dig for hours together. Finally on the fifth day of digging, the duo's hard-work finally bore results as they found water 16 feet below the surface.
"We were bored at home, and my son and I were constantly wondering what to do. We had to go far to get water. So we thought, why not dig a well in front of the house? Thankfully, we found water due to which our water woes are now resolved forever," a visibly-elated Devke said.
Now that they have found water, the father-son duo is currently working on a cement wall for the well.
