Palghar (Maharashtra): At least one person died and five others were injured in an explosion at the Zakaria textile factory in the Tarapur industrial area of Palghar district. The incident took place at around 6 am on Saturday morning.
The fire was triggered by the blast. The sound of the explosion was so loud that it was heard four to five kilometres away. The fire brigade personnel and police rushed to the spot on being alerted and launched a rescue operation. So far, one body has been recovered and the deceased is yet to be identified as the body is charred beyond recognition.
The injured are undergoing treatment in a private hospital.
Meanwhile, efforts are on to find two factory workers have reportedly gone missing after the incident.
