Neeraj Desai convict in CST bridge accident, to repair 16 bridges in Mumbai

Desai Associates company, who was convicted in the Himalayan bridge accident, was blacklisted and expelled from the panel. Mumbai municipal has decided to give the contract to Desai to repair 16 bridges.

Mumbai:The municipal corporation has decided to give the contract to repair 16 bridges to D G Desai Associates, which was accused in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) bridge accident, raising several questions over the decision.

Desai will be given a contract of 16 crores for repairing bridges in Colaba, Grant Road, Chandanwadi, Byculla in Mumbai.

On the basis of strong evidence, police arrested the company's auditor Neeraj Kumar Desai.

Desai Associated Company, who was convicted in the CSMT bridge accident, was blacklisted and removed from the panel.

The municipal corporation decided to re-audit all bridges once again.

Advice for following bridges will be taken -The CSMT bridge was collapsed on 14th March killing 6 people and injuring 34 due to fake structural audit.
