The only thing left in the Unlock process at this point is reopening religious institutions and temples. All the temples across the country have been locked for the past six months to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

However, the spread of COVID-19 infection is still not under control in several parts of the country. In such a condition, if temples reopen, chances of transmission is a risk.

To handle the situation, Mankar invented the touch-free bell.

Nikhil Mankar, a professor of Adarsh Vidyalaya at Savner taluka in Nagpur district and a professor of the late Anandrao Patil Kedar Junior College Vocational Course, takes initiatives to impart technology that is useful to the society.

Two months ago, he had built a hand sanitizer machine at a cost of only Rs 150.

This time he has developed a temple bell that can be rung without touching it.

Professor Mankar has made this invention following the rule of waste to sustainability in this experiment.

While talking to ETV Bharat about his recent experiment, Mankar said, "While I was teaching IR Remote Control Circuit, I thought I can use this sensor technology in real life during the COVID-19 pandemic".
