Nagpur: In a never seen before concept, the Nagpur police have busted an interstate racket run by thieves who were recruited by someone on a stipulated salary were paid commission on each robbery they carried out.
Although the arrest of robbers is not new, the concept of them being paid a monthly salary to flick mobile phones and purses off people does strike as odd.
Reportedly, these thieves were paid a monthly salary of ten to fifteen thousand rupees and the city police have nabbed a gang of mobile thieves by setting a trap from Beltarodi in Nagpur. This gang includes professional thieves from Bihar and Jharkhand.
The group recruited minor boys for carrying out the theft of mobile phones and purses, who often operated in small groups. After committing the crime in different cities, these robbers would return to their home states as their modus operandi.
