Navi Mumbai: A 25-year-old woman was raped and pushed out of a running train in Mumbai.
The victim was found unconscious near the railway tracks on the Vashi Bay bridge on Tuesday morning by a local train motorman who also informed the concerned stationmaster, after which the Vashi railway police was informed.
After the Assistant Inspector of Police Bhausaheb Shinde along with his team arrived at the spot, they rushed the victim to the municipal hospital in Vashi.
The victim has been further taken to the JJ Hospital for treatment. Her condition is said to be stable.
According to the Vashi Railway Police, a case of attempted murder and rape has been registered against an unidentified person and preliminary investigation has revealed that the girl was raped.

Once the victim has healed enough to speak, further information would be known regarding the case.
A special team has been formed by the Vashi Railway Police to investigate the crime. CCTV cameras in all railway stations are being checked and the victim's acquaintances are also being questioned.
The girl works as a house help in Powai and used to visit her parents once a week. The incident allegedly happened when she was returning from her parent's home on Tuesday.
