Mumbai rape case: CCTV footage of the accused accessed

In the aftermath of the horrific Mumbai's Sakinaka rape case, the CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced. The entire incident has been captured in this CCTV footage, in which it can be clearly seen that after the rape, the accused brutally beats the victim and then absconded, leaving the victim in a stationary tempo.

Mumbai (Maharashtra): In the aftermath of the horrific Mumbai's Sakinaka rape case, the CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced. The entire incident has been captured in this CCTV footage, in which the accused is clearly seen brutally beating the victim. After the incident, the accused absconded, leaving the unconscious victim inside a stationary tempo.

The crime which bore a chilling similarity to the 2012 `Nirbhaya' gang-rape case of Delhi took place in the wee hours of Friday. The suspect who had been arrested within a few hours of the incident has been now charged with murder.

While the city police formed a Special Investigation Team to probe the incident, opposition BJP demanded capital punishment for the accused and questioned if women were safe in Maharashtra.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray termed the incident as a "blot on humanity".
