Delhi terror module: Mumbai Police arrest man for booking train ticket for suspect

Mumbai: A team led by Mumbai Police and Crime Branch arrested Azgar, a travel agent, in connection with the Delhi terror module. Azgar allegedly booked Mumbai-Delhi train ticket for suspected terrorist Jan Mohammad Sheikh, a Mumbai resident. Azgar's wife said that he worked at Snapdeal.

In the wake of a Mumbai resident getting arrested in the case, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil has called for an emergency meeting on Wednesday. As per sources, Jan Mohammad Sheikh was in Mumbai till Monday. Sources said he informed his wife that he was heading to Uttar Pradesh and showed his e-ticket.

Delhi's Patiala House Court has sent four suspected terrorists - Jan Mohammed Ali Sheikh, Osama, Moolchand and Mohammed Abu Bakar - to 14-day police custody after they were presented in the court this morning. While two others accused, Jeshan Qamar and Amir Javed, will be produced in court in the afternoon, the Delhi Police Special Cell said.

The Delhi Police Special Cell on Tuesday had arrested six people, including two Pakistan-trained terrorists during a multi-state operation. As per Delhi Police, the arrested suspects were planning to carry out targeted killings and bomb blasts across the country. The sleuths also recovered explosives and firearms from the suspects. The suspects who have been arrested are Jan Mohammad Sheikh alias Sameer Kalia, a resident of Mumbai; Osama alias Sami, a resident of Jamia Nagar, Delhi; Moolchand alias Sadhu, a resident of Rae Bareli, UP; Zeeshan Qamar, a resident of Prayagraj, UP; Mohammad Abu Bakar, a resident of Bahraich, and Mohammad Amir Javed, a resident of Lucknow.
