Mumbai cop donates blood to stranger, Twitter praises his efforts

As a silver lining to the dark story, Mumbai police constable has saved the life of a teenager girl by donating his blood. Akash Gaikwad is his name and he has been praised by Mumbai CP Parambir Singh.

Mumbai: A policeman in Mumbai is getting appreciated for his kind gesture towards a stranger, after he donated blood to help a 14-year-old girl who had to undergo open-heart surgery.

The 14-year-old girl Sana Fatim Khan who is being treated in Hinduja hospital, had to undergo open-heart surgery on Wednesday.

She urgently needed blood, but due to Nirsarg cyclone and Corona fear, no eligible person was able to visit the hospital. In such an adverse situation, Akash Gaikwad, Tardeo police station constable deployed in hospital, came to the rescue of the girl as an angel and saved her life by donating blood.

Mumbai CP Parambir Singh has shared this information on his twitter handle. He has said that this incidence once again proved that Mumbai Police always come to the rescue of people in any perilous situation. I salute to this young warrior Akash Gaikwad. He has also shared his photograph. Singh also wished the young girl a healthy life using hashtag #MumbaiFirst.

Param Bir Singh, Commissioner of Police, Mumbai, shared a tweet about the cop, detailing how he donated the blood to the minor.

“Commitment Level: A+,” says the tweet. “A 14-year-old needed blood group A+ to undergo an open heart surgery. When friends or family could not make it to the hospital due to #CycloneNisarga, PC Aakash Gaikwad donated blood,” the tweet says further.

Singh used the hashtag #MumbaiFirst and concluded the tweet by wishing the girl a healthy life ahead.

The tweet has since gone viral and and many other praised the kind gesture by the cop in the comments.

Shared earlier on Thursday, the tweet has collected more than 3,000 likes and nearly 488 retweets - and counting.

Actor Rahul Dev also praised the policeman for his action.
