Maharashtra: Results for 286 Assembly constituencies declared, BJP bags 105 seats

As the counting of votes concluded for the assembly elections in Maharashtra, here is a look at the big wins and losses from some of the most important constituencies in the state.

Mumbai: The results for 286 Assembly constituencies of Maharashtra were declared on Thursday with the BJP securing a total of 105 seats and its alliance partner Shiv Sena, 56 seats.

As per the Election Commission, BJP secured 105 seats, Shiv Sena (56), Congress (44) and the Nationalist Congress Party (54).

While Bahujan Vikas Aaghadi won 3 seats, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen, Prahar Janshakti Party and Samajwadi Party won 2 seats each.

Here's a list of the big wins and losses from some of the important constituencies.

  • Devendra Fadnavis (BJP) - Nagpur South West

BJP's Devendra Fadnavis is leading/winning by a margin of 27, 116 votes, by securing 53, 876 votes, while INC's Dr. Ashish Deshmukh is trailing from Nagpur South West with 29, 021 votes.

  • Aaditya Thackeray (Shiv Sena) - Worli

Tipped to be the leader of the party in the Assembly, Aaditya Thackeray won by a margin of 67, 427 votes, by securing 89, 248 votes, while NCP's Suresh Mane is trailing from Worli with 29, 021 votes.

  • Dhananjay Munde (NCP) - Parli

NCP's Dhananjay Munde is leading/winning by a margin of 30, 701 votes by securing 1,21,555 votes, while BJP's Pankaja Munde - daughter of BJP stalwart Gopinath Munde who died in a car crash- is trailing from Parli with 91,031 votes.

  • Ajit Pawar (NCP) - Baramati

Nephew of veteran politician and founder of NCP Sharad Pawar, Ajit Pawar is leading/winning by a margin of 1,65, 265 votes by securing 1,94,317 votes, while BJP's Gopichand Kundlik Padalkar is trailing behind by securing only 30,282 votes from Baramati.

  • Balasaheb Thorat (INC) - Sangamner

MPCC Chief Balasaheb Thorat, who stepped in after Ashok Chavan quit, is leading/winning by a margin of 62, 252 votes by securing Baramati) (lost)1,24,354 votes, while Shiv Sena's Sahebrao Navale secured 62,870 votes from Sangamner.

  • Ashok Chavan (INC) - Bhokar

Former Maharashtra CM Ashok Chavan is leading/winning by a margin of 97,445 votes by securing 1,24,847 votes, while BJP's Bapusaheb Gorthekar is trailing behind by securing 37617 votes from Bhokar

  • Prithviraj Chavan (INC) - Karad South

Congress' Prithviraj Chavan - 17th Chief Minister of the state - is leading/winning by a margin of 15, 733 votes, by securing 51, 013 votes, while BJP's Atul Suresh Bhosale is trailing behind by securing 29, 208 votes from Karad South.

  • Chandrakant Patil (BJP) - Kothrud

BJP's Chandrakant Patil is leading/winning by a margin of 25, 481 votes, by securing 1, 05,151 votes, while Kishor Shinde from Maharashtra Navnirman Sena is trailing behind by securing 79, 670 votes from Kothrud.

  • Dharmaraobaba Atram (NCP) - Aheri

NCP's Dharmaraobaba Atram is leading/winning by a margin of 15, 458 votes, by securing 60, 013 votes, while BJP's Atram Ambrishrao Raje Satyavanrao is trailing behind by securing 44, 555 votes from Aheri.
