Washim: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted raids at five institutions linked to Shiv Sena MP Bhavana Gawali in connection with alleged money laundering, officials said. Bharatiya Janata Party leader Kirit Somaiyya came up with the allegations of Rs 100 crore corruption in Gawali's Particle board factory.
The central agency conducted raids at Sai Domestic Private Limited, Sai Bhumi Construction, Mahila Utkarsh Pratishthan, Sai Sthan Developers Private Limited, Danish Enterprises Private Limited.

As per Somaiyya's allegation, Gawali bought the factory for only Rs 25 lakh while the actual value was Rs 55 crore. He made the allegations during a press conference held on August 20 and later reached Washim to visit the factory.
Sources said, Shiv Sena workers hurled stones at him after his statement. Gawali denied his allegations and launched attack against BJP MLA Rajendra Patani alleging that Patani is involved in land mafia in Washim. She said that she would approach the ED and the Central Bureau of Investigation.
