Maharashtra: Doctor found dead at his residence in Pune

The deceased have been identified as Dr Subir Sudhir Roy (68) and Jitika Sudhir Roy (65). The former was also found to be infected with COVID-19. Dr Roy was a renowned ophthalmologist from Pune.

Pune: A senior doctor found dead at his residence at Prabhat Road in the Deccan area and his sister also tragically passed away during the treatment.

The deceased have been identified as Dr Subir Sudhir Roy (68) and Jitika Sudhir Roy (65). The former was also found to be infected with COVID-19.

Dr Roy was a renowned ophthalmologist from Pune. His clinics are situated in Yerawada and Vishrantwadi areas.

He was living with his sister Jitika and brother Sanjay Roy in a house at Prabhat Road and taking care of Jitika and Sanjay as they were facing some mental health-related issues.

A relative of Dr Roy had been trying to contact him for the last three days. As his phone was switched off the relative couldn’t contact him.

Later the relatives themselves visited his house at Prabhat road. They found Jitika unconscious in the hall and Sanjay was right there in the house.

Dr Roy’s room was closed and a pungent smell came out of it. The relatives then contacted Police officials.

The Police officials later broke the door and entered the house only to find Dr Roy dead in the toilet.

Police then shifted unconscious Jitika to the hospital and she where she died while undergoing treatment.
