Alandi (Maharashtra): Sant Dnyaneshwar Mauli’s palkhi procession will begin today and Mauli’s paduka will leave for Pandharpur at 4 O'clock. As the coronavirus infection is on the rise, Ashadhi wari ceremony will take place in the presence of only 50 Warkaris.
Alandi Mandir trust has made vast preparations for the ceremony. All the area including Mauli temple, Bhakt Niwas (building for devotees to stay) has been sanitized. Rituals like peal, kakad aarti, consecration, consecration by panchamrut were performed in the early morning at 4 o'clock.

Alandi trust, police administration and Alandi municipal council are taking special precaution to prevent community spread. Alankapuri Mandir area is sealed after the death of a corona patient woman. The temple area carries a deserted look, which is otherwise extremely crowded.
Two days ago, the death of a corona patient in Alandi area led to sealing of the entire locality surrounding the temple. Nobody has been allowed to participate in the palkhi ceremony as the number of corona infected persons is on the rise. A heavy police force has been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure.
