Mumbai: Just months before assembly elections, Maharashtra MP and Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Raosaheb Danve has offered his resignation from BJP's Maharashtra state president's post on Tuesday.
Danve met BJP's working President JP Nadda earlier on Tuesday morning and offered his oral resignation to him. Later in the evening, he will meet BJP's national President Amit Shah.
Addressing media at his Delhi residence, Raosaheb Danve said, "Following the tradition of BJP's one post one part, I have offered my resignation to the BJP President today."
He even went on to say that he has asked party's working President to appoint a BJP President from Maharashtra so BJP and Shiv Sena can win the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
Danve was first appointed as BJP's Maharashtra President on January 6, 2015. After which he was once again appointed for the top post in 2016 as well. He held this post for nearly five years.
