Mumbai: BJP state president in Maharashtra Chandrakant Patil wrote a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and demanded a CBI inquiry against Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Transport Minister Anil Parab.
Patil posted the letter on his Twitter account, which read 'disclosures made by Mumbai Police ASI Sachin Waze regarding involvement of Ajit Pawar, Anil Parab and associates in large scale corruption are shocking and shameful. Through a letter, I have urged Union Home Minister Amit Shah Ji to order a CBI enquiry against both the ministers."

Patil claimed that Waze informed the officers that Ajit Pawar asked him to extort Rs 100 crores from illegal tobacco sellers and Anil Parab asked Waze to extort Rs two crores from BMC contractors. Supporting his claim, Patil referred to a handwritten note submitted by Waze to the NIA court in April. On June 24, the state executive of the BJP passed a resolution demanding an inquiry into the allegations which have remained uninvestigated so far, Patil said.
