Kolhapur (Maharashtra): Inter-faith marriages have always been a subject of controversy with either the families or society opposing the union.
But the Mujawar and Yadav families in Kolhapur transcended the communal barriers to celebrate religious diversity.
Both these families broke the walls of caste and religion and celebrated the marriage of their children.
The groom is a Hindu and the bride is a Muslim. Following the ideas of Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj, these families celebrated the marriage ceremony of their children in the same mandap with both Hindu and Muslim rituals.
The two were dating for many years and felt the religious difference would come in the way of their union, but were elated when their parents agreed.
