Mumbai (Maharashtra): The repercussions of the farmers' agitation have begun to spill over into Maharashtra's politics. BJP leader Ashish Shelar has held a press conference and targeted Sanjay Raut and Sharad Pawar.
"When a tractor was put on the body of a policeman in yesterday's incident in Delhi, no one uttered a word against him. Why Sanjay Raut, who defends every day, did not speak on behalf of the police. So, Sharad Pawar, who used to post on Facebook when needed, did not do so from the side of the jawans and the police? You are supporters of Sharad Pawar and Sanjay Raut and other people in all movements. Why are your mouths shut? We are asking you such a question on behalf of the people of the country," asked Ashish Shelar angrily.
Ashish Shelar, while interacting with the media on Wednesday, had strongly criticized the leaders of the Mahavikas Aghadi. Shelar had especially targeted NCP supremo Sharad Pawar. Sharad Pawar and Sanjay Raut supported the controversy that has been going on in the movement from the very beginning. "Then, after all this happened yesterday, Sharad Pawar, Sanjay Raut, why aren't you talking now," said Shelar in a scathing attack.
