Nagpur: The crime branch on Tuesday night raided a gambling den in Atre Layout of Anand Nagar under Bajaj Nagar Police Station in Nagpur and arrested eight people including senior BJP corporator and former standing committee chairman Pravin Bhisikar and assistant superintendent of Daga Hospital Sanjay Kurade.

Acting on a tip-off, the crime branch unit-3 raided the bungalow of one of them known as Sanjay Latkar and caught eight persons red-handed while gambling.

The police seized cash Rs 10,200, seven Android phones worth Rs 70,000, three four-wheelers worth Rs 19 lakh and two two-wheelers from the accused.

A case under relevant sections of the Anti-Gambling Act was registered and further probe is on according to the senior PI of Bajaj Nagar police station. The eight later got bail from the district court.
