Mumbai: The state legislature held only two-day winter session starting Monday due to the to Coronavirus where issues of Maratha reservation, Kanjurmarg metro car shed, farmers' help, Arnab Goswami, Kangana Ranaut's violation of rights, etc. were discussed. Several good debates between the ruling party and the opposition were also seen.

Shakti Bill to Joint Committee

It was decided to send the Shakti Bill to the Joint Committee of both the houses. The joint committee will have 21 members from both the houses. Anil Parab, Shashikant Shinde, Bhai Jagtap, Bhai Girkar, Vinayak Mete and Kapil Patil were appointed as members of this Joint Committee.

Maratha reservation in the final stage: Uddhav Thackeray

The battle for Maratha reservation is in its final stages. An army of advocates has been formed for the Maratha reservation. The reservation of the Maratha community will remain in the court. Also, while giving justice to the Maratha community, the reservation of other communities will not be affected, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has clarified.

Maharashtra first state to practice 'My Family, My Responsibility'

Taking a dig at BJP, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray asked the saffron party, "We were accused of saying that if we speak against the government in Maharashtra, we will be imprisoned. There is an undeclared emergency in Maharashtra. So how are you using ED and other investigative mechanisms?" The Chief Minister also lashed out at Devendra Fadnavis, the leader of the Opposition in the Assembly and said that it is a good thing that people who have seen the past five years and the moments of overthrowing the government are now reading books and reports.

Ajit Pawar lashes out at opponents

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar lashed out at the opposition saying that they are saddened by the arrival of a three-party government. He said, the opposition predicted the current government in the state would collapse in six months, and then added it will be over in a year, but that did not happen. The two-day winter session of the legislature saw a good clash between the government and the opposition.

Pawar also answered the questions and allegations raised by the opposition. The Deputy Chief Minister testified that the Mahavikas Aghadi government will not allow injustice to be done to anyone, whether it is Maratha reservation issue or OBC issue, they will not push anyone's reservation.

The king became generous, with nothing in his hand - Devendra Fadnavis

Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis has strongly criticized Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray for giving meagre aid to farmers. Speaking on supplementary demands, Fadnavis said farmers had to sow three times. Then the rain washed away the farm and the house. While the Chief Minister was on a tour, a cheque of Rs 3,000 was handed over to them. This is a situation where 'the king has become generous and yet has given nothing', said Devendra Fadnavis.

In the winter session, Fadnavis raised the issue of Kangana Ranaut and Arnab Goswami and criticized the Thackeray government. He added, that the government acted in a revengeful manner against the two. He also clarified that we do not agree with the statements of Kangana and Arnab.

"Name of CM should be taken with respect"

"Whether it is Arnab Goswami or Kangana Ranaut, we do not agree with his statement. As Leader of the Opposition, I say on record that our Chief Minister should be respected. He is the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. The Prime Minister of the country should also be mentioned," said Devendra Fadnavis. This government is not interested in discussing any issue. Opposition leader Devendra Fadnavis said that the Shakti Bill is very important and that is why it needs to be widely discussed."

Govt running away from convention: Praveen Darekar

Opposition leader Praveen Darekar said nothing happened at this convention except a mourning motion. Darekar also criticized the government for not presenting its position on farmers' issues and electricity bills, and for not discussing a number of supplementary demands.

Opposition groups called for a halt to the protests, which began on the second day of the session. The announcement was made protesting the government regarding Maratha reservation, women's security, farmers' issues, electricity bill etc.

Confusion in the Legislative Assembly over Arnab Goswami and Kangana Ranaut's violation of rights

The names of Arnab Goswami and Kangana Ranaut caused a commotion in the assembly. "The insult to the Chief Minister and Mumbai is an insult to the state. Therefore, we all need to come together against this," said Nana Patole.

Mete barred from participating

If we want to discuss the Maratha reservation, the speakers had made it a condition to remove the special clothes worn by Mete. However, he did not take off his special clothes, which is unfortunate, the speaker said. Therefore, Mete has been barred from participating in the work. Also, the speakers have rejected the suggestion to discuss the reservation.

Those who interrupt the speech will be brought to the polls - Mungantiwar

Speaking in the Assembly, Sudhir Mungantiwar said, "If anyone interrupts my speech, I will throw them in the polls." His challenge was accepted by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar.
