Pune: At least two persons died in a road rash on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Monday that caused a huge roadblock in the area.
The accident took place near Khopoli, when the car they were travelling in was hit from behind by a container truck transporting meat to Mumbai.
The collision was followed by two other lorries that lost control due to the sudden accident and hit the first container truck.
Locals immediately rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the victims who were already by then.
Their dead bodies have been sent for post-mortem while efforts to clear the road are still underway.
