Sidhi (Madhya Pradesh): A widow was gang-raped and an iron rod was inserted in her private parts allegedly by three persons at a village under Amilia police limits in Madhya Pradesh's Sidhi district on Sunday night. The woman has been admitted to Rewa DHH and stated to be in serious condition.
Meanwhile, police have arrested the trio accused after relatives of the woman lodged complaint against them and started interrogation.
According to police sources, the incident took place last night when the woman was alone in her home.
Police said that the accused asked for water to the woman and called her out of the house. When the woman refused to come outside, the accused trio barged into the house, raped her and tortured her by inserting an iron rod in her private parts. The accused fled the spot after committing the crime.
On hearing the woman's scream, her relatives and neighbours rushed to the spot and took her to Sidhi DHH and she was later shifted to Rewa DHH as her health condition deteriorated, police sources said.
The accused trio was detained and being interrogated, police added.
Meanwhile, speaking to the media persons in this regard, state health Minister Narottam Mishra said," All accused have been arrested. The government will try to punish the culprits as soon as possible after conducting special trials."
