Indore: Indore Crime Branch, probing the Rs 70 crore MDMA drugs racket, on Thursday revealed that the four accused arrested from Mumbai include a woman who is having many high profile connections. So far police have made 33 arrests in the case and a search operation to nab others is underway.
According to police, four people including a woman were arrested from Mumbai for supplying nearly 40 kg of MDMA drugs in the city and other states. The accused are associated with the earlier accused who were arrested with MDMA drugs worth Rs 70 crores in the city. They used to hide drugs in medicine parcels and deliver them by car amid lockdown with the help of the Covid-19 pass.

The accused have been identified as Salim Choudhary, Juber Halai, Mehzabin Sheikh and Anwar Lal. All four drug peddlers, who were from Mumbai, have been remanded till July 12. "The woman used to frequently travel to Arab nations. We are scanning her contacts and her properties are being investigated. A joint operation with ED and Income Tax Department has been launched. We are trying to ascertain her possible link with the D-company," said Indore DIG Manish Kapooria.

We scanned Mehzabin Sheikh's chats with drug smugglers of many nations including Afghanistan and Dubai. She is also having links with Afghanistan Narco-Terrorism, he said. "Mehzabin supplied huge consignments of drugs globally through darknet and dark web. We are extracting details of her bank accounts, passport, mobile sims, assets and electronic gadgets," Indore DIG added.
