Morena: Union Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Monday visited his own constituency, Madhya Pradesh's Morena and discussed with the farmers regarding three farm bills.
Meanwhile, the government stood by its stand that it will not repeal the new farm laws and urged the protesting farmers to hold a clause-by-clause discussion on the agricultural reform in the next round of meeting January 19.
Speaking to media persons in this regard, Minister Tomar said," The government expects that the protesting farmers would discuss the farm laws clause-wise in the next round of meeting. Tell the government what they want other the repeal of the farm laws and we will definitely consider them."
"Today, the farmers are in worse condition due to their policies in the long-term Congress government in independence in the country. So, Congress does not have the right to talk about farmers. The three new agricultural bills that have been introduced are going to bring changes in the standard of living of farmers," Tomar said.
"Modi Ji wants to make farmers self-reliant by these reformation laws by making efforts to make agriculture profitable and doubling farmers' income. Most of the farmers and experts are in favour of farm laws. After the Supreme Court's order, the laws can't be implemented. Now we expect that farmers discuss the laws clause-wise on Jan 19 and tell govt what they want other than the repeal of the laws," Tomar said.
