Pregnant woman held hostage, 'raped' in front of her children

A Dalit family from Bandargarh of Chhatarpur district, the parliamentary constituency of state BJP president BD Sharma were allegedly assaulted by miscreants.

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): A pregnant Dalit woman was allegedly raped and her husband and in-laws assaulted over a trivial issue. The brutal incident took place at Bandargarh in Madhya Pradesh.

Bandargarh, the parliamentary constituency of BJP's Madhya Pradesh state president BD Sharma, is located just 7 kilometers from the world tourist destination of Khajuraho.

Baijnath Ahirwar, who works in the fields of one Dabangg Patel, sought leave citing ill health. Infuriated over this, Patel allegedly got the former and his brother Lakhan Ahirwar beaten up. They were compelled to flee from the village in order to save their lives.

Further, Patel allegedly sent miscreants to Ahirwar's house, who raped his five-month pregnant wife in front of her minor children and mother-in-law Harbai Ahirwar (70).

When the women objected to the assault, they were brutally beaten up and warned against complaining about the incident to the police.

They also threatened the women and held them hostage in their own house. as a result, the women had to stay without food and water for at least four days.

They later mustered courage and filed a police complaint. The police have initiated an investigation assured strict action against the guilty.

Reacting to the issue, Youth Congress District President Lokendra Verma has hurled serious allegations against MP VD Sharma, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Chhatarpur district and police administration. He demanded that the culprits in the case be caught within 24 hours.
