Hoshangabad (Madhya Pradesh): Around five people, who were stranded on an isolated land in an overflowing river, were rescued by NDRF team at Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad district on Monday.
Reportedly, the men had gone into Tawa river in search of their cattle through a boat. However, a sudden increase in the river's flow due to heavy rains led to the men getting stranded in the river. The video shows five men stuck in the river and can be seen standing on a raised slab in the middle of the waterway.
On receiving the information, station officer of Babai police station, Anoop Nain reached the spot along with the rescue team to save them.
It is believed that due to incessant rains, the gates of Tawa dam are being opened continuously following which water level of Tawa river is increasing.
