Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The change of Special Investigation Team (SIT) chief, a day after it was formed to probe the alleged honey-trap racket in which government officials and politicians were blackmailed, has sparked a row in Madhya Pradesh.

Defending the Kamal Nath government on this, the state Parliamentary Affairs and Cooperative Minister Govind Singh said that now more qualified, experienced and impeccable officer has been made the SIT chief.

He further said, "The new SIT Chief Sanjeev Shami's career has been outstanding so far. He has a vast experience which will come handy in the investigation."

Taking a dig at the former CM Shivraj Singh, he said, "Why Shivraj is not protesting in the honey-trap case like he is protesting for farmers? The BJP should stop the gimmick on the name of farmers."

It is to be noted that the honey-trap racket was busted after Indore Municipal Corporation superintendent engineer Harbhajan Singh approached police last week claiming the accused were blackmailing him to the tune of Rs 3 crore over objectionable video clips.
