Indore: A major fire broke out at a plastic factory in Sanwer area in Madhya Pradesh's Indore on Wednesday.
While no loss of life or injury was reported, assets worth crores of rupees were gutted in the inferno. Firefighters attributed the cause of the fire to electric short circuit.
According to sources, some locals spotted smoke billowing out of the factory and alerted the fire department. On being informed, fire tenders reached the spot and doused the flames after hours of ordeal.
The intensity of the fire was so massive that the firefighters took several hours to douse the flame. Owing to the absence of adequate entry and exit points at the mishap site, the fire brigade mobilized bulldozers to demolish the factory's walls to spray water.
While the exact reason behind the outbreak of the fire is yet to be ascertained, a detailed investigation into the incident is underway, added sources.
