Hyderabad: A 39-year-old man from Madhya Pradesh has been sentenced 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by a local court of Hyderabad on Thursday for sexually assaulting a five-year-old girl in October last year.
According to Hyderabad Police Commissionerate, First Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge Suneetha Kunchala served the judgement under the POCSO Act and sentenced him to undergo 20 years of imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 10,000.

In October 2019, the accused called the girl to his room on the pretext of giving her chocolates and sexually assaulted her. The girl brought the incident to the notice of her mother, who filed a police complaint.

Later, a case was registered and the accused was subsequently arrested.
