Madhya Pradesh: Four of a family drown in Narmada river

In a tragic incident, four members of a family drowned in Narmada river in Madhya Pradesh's Hoshangabad district, while they were taking a bath on Monday. As per reports, bathing ghats along Narmada river in the city have been closed in the wake coronavirus-induced lockdown.

Hoshangabad: In a tragic incident, four members of a family drowned in while they were taking a bath in Narmada river near Hoshangabad district on Monday.

The deceased were identified as Siddhi (10), Nirmesh (20), Vaishali (24), Aayush (19) and Amit Gaur (12)- residents of Raipur.

People around alerted the local administration. The rescue team reached one hour after the incident took place and home guard jawans recovered bodies and sent them to the district hospital, where an autopsy was done.

Meanwhile, DIG Mohan Sarwan, SDM Aditya Singh, District collector Shailendra Kumar Badonia and other police officials also reached the spot.

As per reports, bathing ghats along Narmada river in the city have been closed in the wake coronavirus-induced lockdown.

Police force has been deployed at each and every ghat in the city. The unfortunate incident took place as there was no police personnel deployed near this ghat.
