After many reported incidents of violence against police by the commuters for imposing hefty fines, the Rewa police want to set a model forward to bring down such tensions in the future.
The laddu is given to traffic rule violators only after issuing the challan and educating them on the importance of such rules. The police believe that such 'soft power' will help commuters come to terms with the rules and act in a responsible way and avoid further tensions.
