Narsinghpur: A man in Singhpurbada village on Friday killed his wife by puncturing her respiratory tract.
The woman who sustained serious injuries died at the district hospital. The police arrested the man named Somnath and pressed murder charges against him.
The accused was remanded to jail after the police presented him in court.

"Laxmibai Thakur, 35, a resident of Singhpurbada, had been suffering from cold and cough and other diseases. Her husband, Somnath, 38, son of Nokelal Thakur brutally hacked the woman to death with an axe rod," Amit Dani, Station in-charge, Stationganj.
According to the police, he shoved the handle of an axe in Laxmibai's mouth, puncturing her windpipe. She was admitted to the district hospital in a serious condition where she died at around 2 pm.

The complaint against Somnath was lodged by the deceased's brother Gulshan, 25, and his father Budhulal Thakur, both residents of Hinautia.
The in-charge of the police station also said the post-mortem report of the body has revealed that the woman died due to the tearing of the respiratory tract.
