Sheopur: People wade through water on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh's Sheopur after the state hit with heavy rainfall.
Several bridges in the city were flooded due to the overflow in Chambal and Parvati rivers caused due to heavy rain and release of water from Kota Barrage in Rajasthan.
In some places, including state capital Bhopal, the authorities had to open sluice gates of reservoirs to release water after they were filled up to their maximum storage capacity.
Majorly affecting Bhopal, Mandsuar and Betul districts of the state, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) had warned, "very heavy to extremely heavy".
