Narsinghpur (MP): Reacting on the completion of hearing by the Supreme Court bench in the Ayodhya land dispute case, on Thursday Shankaracharya Swaroopanand Saraswati said that the final settlement of the dispute is in the country's best interest.
Speaking to ETV Bharat at the Joteshwar Ashram in Narsinghpur, Swaroopanand Saraswati, the Shankaracharya of Dwarka Peeth, expressed confidence about a favourable decision from the apex court.
"The arguments put forward by the Ram Janmabhoomi Punaruddhar Samiti were such that the opposing parties could not give a proper reply. I am sure that the apex court will rule in our favour," he said.
However, Saraswati blamed all the parties involved for politicising the issue.
"Settlement of the dispute is in the country's best interest. If it goes on, it will be a hindrance to India's progress," he said.
The seer further went on to opine that if the apex court decides to uphold the land partition verdict of the Allahabad High Court, the dispute would never end.
Earlier on Wednesday, a five-judge Constitution bench, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi, concluded the day-to-day hearings in the politically-sensitive Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid dispute case, and reserved its verdict.
