Bhopal: Amidst the rising Covid-19 death toll, Bhadbhada Vishram Ghat in Bhopal is running out of space to cremate the bodies of the Covid-19 victims. The crematorium is now constructing 30 additional cremation spaces on a war footing.
Due to the rise in the death tolls, the availability of cremation space is scarce. Bhadbhada crematorium is receiving over 30 dead bodies on a daily basis. The crematorium plans to construct an additional facility in front of the electric crematorium.

Work is going on to build 30 new cremation centres. JCB machines are being deployed for the construction activities. Another shed is being constructed to create space for seating. Labourers and workers are cutting steel and iron rods to erect 30 new cremation stands.

Bhadbhada Vishram Ghat's manager, Ajit Chaudhary and secretary Mamta Sharma confirmed that the crematorium is working day and night to meet the crisis situation. Earlier they faced a shortage of pyre wood, which is now solved after procuring wood from private vendors. The electric crematorium is also functioning. The area in front of the electric crematorium is also being used to create additional crematorium stalls.
