Angry with sons, farmer names dog as heir

A farmer in Madhya Pradesh who was angry with the behaviour of his sons named his pet dog Jackie as his heir in legal papers. The will he wrote also said the person taking care of the dog will be the next heir in line.

Chhindwara: While the dog's loyalty is exemplified, farmer Om Narayan, a resident of Bari Bada village returned the good faith and named fifty percent of his property to his pet dog, Jackie in his will, setting the benchmark high for pet-lovers.

The other half of it is in the name of his second wife Champa and the whole matter is in the Chaurai police station area of Madhya Pradesh.

The farmer was angry with the behavior of his sons, due to which he made his dog Jackie his heir in the legal affidavit.

The 50-year-old farmer, wrote in his will that my wife and pet dog serve me. That is why they are most dear to me when I live. After my death, wife Champa Verma and pet dog Jackie will be entitled to full property. Also, the person serving the dog will be considered the next heir of the property.

According to the will, Om Narayan is being looked after by his wife Champa. Therefore, half of the property has been given to Champa, while 11-month-old Jackie always stays with him and takes his care, due to which another part of the property has been transferred to Jackie.

Om has two wives. The villagers say that he was married twice - first wife is Dhanwanti Verma with whom he has three daughters and a son, while the second wife is Champa Varma, who has two daughters.

Reportedly, Om owns property worth crores and has 18 acres of land. There are other properties as well, which are entitled to his dog and second wife.
