Dindori (Madhya Pradesh): A Delhi based corporate trainer transforms himself into a bike rider and completed a distance of over 75,000 kilometres in order to spread awareness about wearing helmets while driving a two-wheeler.
Ansh, hailing from New Delhi had started the noble initiative on the auspicious day of October 2nd, which is also marked as Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. He named the programme as-One India One Ride' and determined to travel across the nation.
The bike-rider has claimed that he has travelled 28 states and 7 union territories covering a distance of over 75,000 km.
"I got to know that more than 35,000 people lost their lives every day due to their negligence over road safety. I was more surprised when I got to know that about 72 per cent of lives could be saved if people start wearing helmets while riding a two-wheeler", said the bike-rider while talking to ETV Bharat.
He further maintained that people wear helmets only to avoid penalties. He also figured out that about 70 per cent of the people wore a helmet due to compulsion.
"People of our country used to wear helmets as they have a fear of getting caught by the traffic police. They don't understand the value of life. They could avoid fatal accidents if they take least precautionary measures", added Ansh.
When ETV Bharat asked about his travel experience, the rider said that he had been facing several problems due to the nationwide lockdown. He recalls the memory of staying at public places and said he has collected a bunch of 'good memories' during the lockdown as several local people and journalist helped him in arranging basic necessities of life.
The rider also said he has planned to start a program in which he wished to cover every district of the state.
