Niwari (Madhya Pradesh): Senior Congress leader and former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Digvijay Singh once again slammed the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government over the abrogation of Article 370, saying that they took this decision unilaterally without taking any stakeholders into confidence. Referring to the recently held PM's all-party meeting, Singh said that if the central government had discussed the matter beforehand with other parties then they wouldn't have to hold a meeting with leaders of Gupkar Alliance now.
"PM used to say that after the abrogation of Article 370, terrorism will end in Kashmir, but it hasn't. He said Kashmir will attract investors...Kashmiri pundits will return to their homes...but the truth is that nothing has happened till date," he alleged, adding that the PM has the habit of making decisions without thinking as he did the same during demonetisation, GST and Covid-19 pandemic.
He also accused the central government of holding secret talks with the Taliban in Doha. "Qatar's ambassador has confirmed that a talk was held between India and Taliban in Doha but the Modi government hasn't said a word about it. Shivraj Singh Chouhan calls me a person of Talibani mentality. Now tell whether I am of Talibani mentality or Narendra Modi?" he asked. Singh concluded by saying that there should be no talks with Pakistan until the terrorists of the Mumbai attack are handed over to India.
