BJP MP demands CBI investigation into the honeytrap case in Madhya Pradesh

The BJP MP from Indore has demanded CBI probe into the honeytrap case. He also slammed the Madhya Pradesh government over the 'Navratri guidelines' calling it 'anti-religious'.

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP from Indore Shankar Lalwani has accused the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of not probing into the honeytrap case properly and has demanded a CBI probe.

Five women and a man were arrested in Indore and Bhopal on September 18-19 for allegedly running a honey-trapping and blackmailing racket.

The police action came after Indore Municipal Corporation superintendent engineer Harbhajan Singh complained that he was being blackmailed to the tune of Rs 3 crore over objectionable video clips.

MP police had identified the accused as Aarti Dayal (29), Monica Yadav (18), Shweta Vijay Jain (39), Shweta Swapnil Jain (48), Barkha Soni (34) and Omprakash Kori (45).

Lalwani also slammed the Madhya Pradesh government over the 'Navratri guidelines' calling it 'anti-religious'.

He said that no one can accept any interference with one's rituals.

As per the affidavit, the idol will not be more than 6-feet height and no loudspeakers will be played between 10 pm to 6 am. It also says the organiser will be held responsible for fire safety and structural safety. If someone violates the rules, legal action will be taken against him/her.
