New Delhi: Senior BJP leader and former MP, Manohar Untwal passed away at Medanta hospital in Delhi on Wednesday night after a prolonged illness.
According to the family sources, the 54-year-old was suffering from the brain-related ailment since the last few months and was shifted to the hospital in Delhi recently.
Born on 19 July 1966, Untwal was elected as an MLA four times and once as an MP from Dewas Lok Sabha constituency in 2014. Before being a member of parliament, he was a Member of Legislative Assembly from Agar-Malwa.
He had vacated his Lok Sabha membership after winning the Agar assembly seat.
In the 2014 parliamentary polls, the BJP leader had succeeded in making his Lok Sabha debut, winning from Dewas constituency.
He is survived by his wife, two sons and two daughters, sources said.
Party leader and Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath took to twitter to express his deepest condolences over the demise of the party leader.
