Ujjain: A pall of gloom descended on Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain where one more priest died of COVID-19 on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Guru Ustad who was also the chief of the Mahakaleshwar Flag Procession Ceremony.
As per reports, he was being treated at a private hospital in Ujjain for the last one week.
Earlier on April 10, priest Chandra Mohan of the same temple had died of COVID-19 at a hospital in Indore.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, two priests of the Mahakaleshwar temple were booked for violating collector’s orders by visiting the temple to perform rituals despite being quarantined after their family members tested positive for COVID-19.
Mahakal police station in-charge Arvind Singh Tomar said the priests were booked under Section 188 of IPC for violating orders promulgated by the collector under Section 144 of CrPC.
